Working with teams

Accelerating the rate at which a senior team simultaneously hits its stride together is a frequent goal for The Coaching House’s clients. Ensuring that the various skills and approaches of team members can be harnessed to drive corporate success is also a common objective of our focusing programmes. Whatever the specific circumstances, the emphasis is always on transforming a good team into an excellent one.

Team focusing can be invaluable when a new team leader has been appointed, a new team has been established with a specific task or an existing team has an ambitious new challenge or other significant change in working pattern.

The Coaching House uses various psychometric tools to create an understanding of individuals' dynamics and their impact on team dynamics. It helps the group build their own templates for behaviours, processes and structures that will allow each person to operate at maximum effectiveness.

Increasingly, our clients’ teams have to grasp the twin challenges presented by working in international markets and making the most of diversity in their workforce. The Coaching House makes an active contribution to ensuring success. We help the client to build cross-cultural competencies and support leaders as they develop wider perspectives, cultural sensitivity and the ability to engage with diversity in a productive and innovative way to achieve organisational goals.

Hitting stride - accelerating high performance in teams...

PULLING TOGETHER
Our client, the Managing Director, was exhausted and perplexed. He had recruited some excellent new players, weeded out a few who were hostile to change, promoted others who showed promise, however, eight months later he still hadn’t reaped the benefits of the changes.

Our work turned the group into a team. Group coaching allowed them rapidly to discover a shared purpose for the company and a strong sense of themselves and each other as individuals. Each team member identified their contribution towards their common goal.

Measuring progress over time showed that individual commitment remained strong, energy levels were consistently high and the MD was less stressed. The fruits of their teamwork began to be evident both inside the company and amongst clients and prospects.
